Accelero™ LIDB API
Accelero™ LIDB API Datasheet
Line information databases are network databases that provide subscriber information to telephony applications. The LIDB contains line characteristics like type of phone (i.e. coin, hotel/motel, residential, business), etc. Services like third party billing require validation by the LIDB database. Typically, a line information database is provisioned with end-user subscriber profile data on every working line in the carrier's network - making it a central repository for customer information that's associated with working line numbers and account numbers. There is also a TCAP based messaging interface defined by Telcordia (formerly BellCore) to allow access to the LIDB database.
The Accelero™ Line Information Database (LIDB) API facilitates building platform-independent, transport-independent and vendor-independent applications. The LIDB is a feature of the Advanced Intelligent Network and is supported by much of the AIN messaging. At present this database is used for storing information on telephone calling cards, collect calls, and so on.
The Accelero™ LIDB module is an easy to use application programming interface (API) for sending and receiving LIDB messages. In conjunction with the Accelero Development Software (ADS), this software module can significantly shorten the development cycle for Service Control Points (SCP).
