Accelero™ Transport Protocols provide the functionality for SS7 and SIGTRAN. Encompassing the features for reliable connection, signaling, transport management, these protocols provide the standards-based infrastructure to support transaction and call processing oriented applications. These protocols are provided with an open platform interface and have interoperated with more than a dozen switches from leading providers in over 20 countries.  The protocols are capable of handling multiple variants concurrently and support combinations of hybrid stacks ITU over ANSI.
 
The Message Transfer Part (MTP) provides the functions that enable the User Part above it to transfer information across the Signaling System No. 7 network to the required destination.  MTP3 ensures a reliable transfer of the signaling messages, even in the case of the failure of signaling links and signaling transfer points; therefore, they include the appropriate functions and procedures necessary both to inform the remote parts of the signaling network of the consequences of a fault, and to appropriately reconfigure the routing of messages through the signaling network.
